Who is Andrea?

Andrea Provaglio is an Executive Business Agility Advisor, Senior Agile Coach, keynote speaker, mentor, and experiential trainer with nearly two decades of experience in Business Agility.

He has worked with organizations across three continents, from multinational companies and public institutions to smaller, fast-moving businesses. His work focuses on helping leaders, managers, and teams build more adaptive, resilient, and effective organizations through Agile, Lean, transformational leadership, and new organizational models.

Andrea is a regular speaker at international conferences and has also been a faculty member of the Executive MBA Ticinensis at the University of Pavia, where he teaches Agile management and adaptive organizations.

Interactive Session: Are your metrics hurting you? Rethinking measurement in complex organizations

Most organizations measure what is easy to count, then act as if it drives results. In complex environments, it rarely does. Worse, every metric shapes behavior: people learn to hit the number, and the number stops telling the truth.

This hands-on workshop is for managers and leaders who want to take a hard look at how they measure performance – and why.

Working in small groups on a real case, you’ll map the metrics your organization uses, trace how they are supposed to lead to outcomes, and uncover the side effects nobody planned for. You’ll see where cause-and-effect thinking breaks down, and where many familiar metrics come from: traditional budgeting and performance management. Along the way, we’ll draw on Beyond Budgeting, Deming and Goldratt.

We’ll also look at AI. Faster individual work is not the same as a faster organization: you’ll sketch your value stream and check whether your AI metrics move the whole system or just one part.

You won’t leave with a ready-made framework. You’ll leave with a new perspective, questions to test any metric, and a first set of measures that fit the value you want to create.
