Agile is flawed - because it works too well
Yes, Agile works - even if we’ve lost sight of the true meaning of the word. It works so well, in fact, that many organizations have found it uncomfortable to embrace, even though agility is needed today more than ever.
The pace of change in just the past five years has been astonishing. We’ve witnessed fundamental paradigm shifts: from the pandemic, which pushed remote work and drastically reduced face-to-face communication, to the collapse of so-called Agile scaling models, to the rise of artificial intelligence technologies that challenge the very notion of human expertise. Not to mention geopolitical and economic turmoil.
Agility is needed; many organizations seem unable to reap its benefits; in the meantime, some of its foundations are being shaken - perhaps for the best.
I’ve spent nearly twenty years helping organizations stay ahead of change, live with it, or even anticipate it. In this session, I aim to challenge some of the assumptions we’ve taken for granted regarding Agile and agility, bringing clarity and eventually asking: What can we do differently to ensure business resilience and empower people? How can we help managers to move with renewed confidence into uncharted territory?
